BRIEF DESCRIPTION
The University of Alaska System Office is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Budget Officer to manage and oversee its operating and capital budgets.
PRIMARY DUTIES
This role involves collaborating with System Office leadership and departments to develop, monitor, and manage the System Office's annual budget, review and approve budget revisions, and handle all personnel-related budget and fiscal matters. Additionally, the Budget Officer will develop, review, and monitor the cost of shared services, serve as a resource for fiscal matters for the System Office, and assist and advise fiscal personnel. The position also supports the Chief Financial Officer and the Controller in various projects and reports, as well as certain general accounting functions.
To thrive in this role, you should have prior experience in fiscal and budget management, as well as accounting experience in non-profit or government settings.
QUALIFICATIONS
1) Bachelor degree in accounting, finance, or business administration or an equivalent combination of training and experience
2) Previous experience preparing and maintain budgets
3) Previous accounting experience with a non-profit or government entity
