AGFOA currently hosts an annual conference which is traditionally held in Anchorage. The conference provides a variety of education and networking opportunities to those working in local and state government.
The Annual AGFOA Conference
Each year the Alaska Government Finance Officer Association holds a conference in early December. This conference is a chance for state and local government officials; boroughs, cities, schools, utilities, and other finance professionals to meet face-to-face and keep current the latest trends, changing regulations, and new opportunities.
The conference attracts hundreds of people from across the state and country!
Our home page will announce the upcoming conference and provide a registration link usually sometime in October.
Conference Scholarships
Scholarships are available to first time attendees for the annual conference. The scholarship covers the cost of the conference registration only. The application is only accepted when conference registration is announced on the AGFOA website.
Eligibility The scholarships are granted on an individual basis only and will not be granted to an organization. Scholarships are not transferable to another individual. The number of scholarships awarded is limited and therefore restricted to municipal staff that are not current or past members of AGFOA.
If Selected If you are selected, you will be asked to verify your acceptance of the Scholarship by a specified deadline, which AGFOA will provide you. If you do not accept the scholarship by the deadline given to you, your application will be forfeited, and you will be placed on the scholarship waiting list. If you are awarded a scholarship, you will be provided a conference application form.
If Not Selected If you apply but are not selected to receive a scholarship, you may register for the conference at the early registration rate regardless of when you apply.
